London, the nation and the world are in mourning as the sad news reaches us of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II passing. My heartfelt condolences are with the whole of the Royal Family at this difficult time.

Her Majesty served for 70 years with unrivalled grace, dignity and purpose. She’s been with us every step of the way, through our darkest hours and the brightest days. Together, we shared in the collective desperation of the pandemic and the joy of the Platinum Jubilee. And through times of war and peace, decline and progress, despair and hope, she has led by example with a quiet dignity and an unshakeable resolve.

I know Londoners and people across the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth are immensely proud of the legacy she leaves.

The Queen dedicated her life to making Britain a better place, and will forever be in her debt. May she rest in peace.
